Pre season starts here!

Welcome back everyone from the summer break. We hope to have a great season in the Wallasey League which we are sure you will enjoy.

Pre season training starts on Tuesday 1 September with a session from 5:30 to 6:30 at Waverton. Players are to meet at the Queens Field at 5:25 with training starting promptly at 5:30 which Heather will lead.

Please bring training kit and a drink. It may be best to bring trainers as well as boots in case the ground is hard.

Our first game in the Wallasey League will be on Saturday 12 September and we have arranged a friendly against our friends at Heygarth on Saturday 5 September. This will be played at Green Lane Eastham (by Port Sunlight Tennis Club- which is not in Port Sunlight! at the back of Eastham Woods) with a 9:30 kick off. All players are asked to attend. Those players unable to make it please let Mike know ASAP. Lifts can be arranged, just give me a call on 07901552261.

Directions to Heygarth United's ground:

From Waverton take the M53 to junction 5, take the third exit and head north along the A41 towards Birkenhead. Follow the A41 through Eastham passing the shops on the left, the Shell garage on the right. Keep on this road as it bends and go past Snow and Rock up to next set of lights with Shell garage and church on the left. Go straight on but at next set of lights turn right into an industrial estate. There are some offices at this junction. This is Old Hall Road and go straight on through the business park. Turn right at the mini roundabout onto Riverwood Road and soon after turn right down a little road which takes you through trees to Port Sunlight Tennis Club.

Park in the car park and meet there at 9am. To get to the field take the track heading left out of the car park and follow it for 2 mins through the woods to the pitch.

Be very careful about Sat Navs, you could finish up like some did last year in the Eastham Woods car park, so if in doubt look for Riverwood Road rather than Green Lane. The postcode for the Tennis Club is CH62 3QX but be careful about where your sat nav might send you!
