Birkenhead Youth Ladies are a new team formed by the merging of Wirral Ladies from last year with Birkenhead Youth Centre. Their u12s are playing our u12s at Waverton at 9:30, so if you're down early cheer on our girls.
The club is signing up to the FA Respect campaign and all parents will be asked to sign up the Respect code of conduct. This is part of our aim to be an FA Charter Standard Club. You have probably read about this campaign which is designed to promote respect between players, between coaches and players, between parents and players and between all involved and the referee. The game is losing referees and without them we can't play. They won't keep turning out if they get abuse from players, parents or coaches. It happens, but we have to play our part in stamping it out.
For parents the code commits them to amongst other things giving support, encouraging the players but not trying to coach or tell the girls what to do.
